Most of the prophecies behind the Blood Moon spawn from Bible Scriptures.
(Joel 2:30-31) “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.”
Televangelist, John Hagee brought popularity to the blood moon prophecies with his “Red Moon Prophecies” sermon in 2013. Hagee’s book “Four Blood Moons: Something Is About to Change” further claims that the lunar eclipses foreshadow a world shaking event which will originate in the Middle East between April 2014 and October 2015.
